Can you help make Twixtmas happen?

Is it possible to create a global phenomenon in 12 days with no budget and spending just an hour a day? That’s the challenge Andy Green is setting himself as he seeks to thrust ‘Twixtmas’ on an unsuspecting world. And he’s inviting the world to help spread the word and decide what he needs to do to make it happen. Twixtmas is the five days between the Christmas and New Year Holidays. Andy wants to use it as a period where each of us does something, ideally five things, to make our world a better place in some way. The task is daunting: • Hardly anyone has heard of, or knows what Twixtmas is about. • He tried to get the campaign off the ground last year but events conspired against him. (Even now, the guy who did last year’s Twixtmas web site has gone walkabout.) • Andy has a day job to do, his kids want presents for Christmas, and he’s also very lazy - hence the hour a day. However, Andy does have some things in his favour: • His own talents, resourcefulness, and connections. (He’s written various books on creative and flexible thinking, runs a number of businesses in the creative sector, and sometimes doesn’t know when to give in.) • Twixtmas could meet a need for anyone wanting to improve their well-being, spirituality (without necessarily being religious) or just feel it’s the right thing to do at this time of year. • We live in a time poor age, where ‘I haven’t got the time’ is probably the most easily trotted out excuse for inactivity, inertia, or indecision. Yet, many people will be bored, fed up with slothing, shopping or sitting in front of the telly. So, Twixtmas may be just the trigger people are looking for, offering light relief and the chance to do something. • ‘5’ is a magic number: you can only remember five things. (Try naming the 7 dwarves, Wonders, or the Magificent). The number could be used in some way as a memorable tool for Twixtmas activities and spreading the Twixtmas message/meme. • There is some nice ‘Twixtmas’ brand design work done last year by Joe Whittaker. a former colleague of Andy’s. • It’s not money making in any way – it’s being done because it seems a good thing to do. • And there’s you. You can do something to help make Twixtmas a worldwide global phenomena in 12 days by spending just five minutes to: • Spread the word in some way • Do something ‘Twixtmas-ey’ (check out www.twixtmas.com for ideas and where you can send your Twixtmas greetings) • Think of something for Andy to do in his hour a day for 12 days for Twixtmas. Get thinking, get doing and get your ideas/instructions to Andy. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Well we might not change the world, but at least you can tell your grandchildren: “I did my bit to make Twixtmas happen.” Looking forward to celebrating Twixtmas with you!
